SUMMARY
We are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator/Surgery Coordinator for our esteemed plastic surgery practice. The ideal
candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills to effectively coordinate surgeries and patient care. This role
demands a balance of administrative acumen, and interpersonal finesse to ensure seamless patient experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care Coordinator/Surgery Coordinator Duties:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients scheduling surgeries, meet with patients and provide quotes (virtual and in-person).
• Coordinate surgical schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of operating room time and resources.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre-operative instructions, including medication management, fasting guidelines, and procedural details.
• Obtain necessary pre-operative clearances and ensure all required paperwork and consents are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Facilitate communication between patients, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to address questions, concerns, and special needs. Adhere to facility policies and protocols.
• Adhere to facility policies and protocols.
• Understand HIPAA and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Have proper etiquette for assigned jobs and respect all our patients.
• Advanced knowledge of the types of surgical procedures and treatments offered at the practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a surgery coordinator, preferably in plastic or reconstructive surgery.
• Minimum associate's degree in a medical field of study.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
simultaneously.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office applications.
